Brett Isard

Consultive Managing Director

Go to person for: Building, Property & Project Management Recruitment & Jobs. As well as responsibilities for the inner workings of Consultive (Operations, Marketing, IT, People & Partners).

An experienced industry professional, with over a decade of helping both candidates change careers / get a new job, knowing where the talent is for building businesses, and growing people and Consultive

On completing a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University and travelling overseas (London experience), I found a job at the ANZ Bank and worked in Finance from 2001 to 2004. In 2004 I was presented with an opportunity to join Consultive and enter the world of recruitment. From the very beginning I have focused on permanent recruitment into the Victorian building market. This gives me over a decade of knowledge in the industry, which certainly goes a long way towards helping candidates find a new role, and knowing where the talent is for my building company clients.

When given an assignment from a client to fill a job, my main focus is to get a full understanding of what they require - this is key to a successful outcome. Once I have this, I move into search mode, which involves using my expertise to source out candidates in the passive and active markets.

Identifying suitable candidates and understanding their individual motivations make this job highly challenging, though massively rewarding. I enjoy the constant challenges of matching candidates with suitable clients, and seeing the positive impact I can make on the people I place into these roles.

I enjoy the constant challenges of working in a busy market where our clients require top talent, and enabling new clients to see the value in my help.

Recent placements are a Site Manager at Intracon, Project Manager at Xerri Group, Contract Administrator at Hansen Yuncken and Project Coordinator at Schiavello Construction. Personally I get a lot of satisfaction placing young people into their first or second career role, it’s a great feeling.

Being a father and husband, I try to spend as much of my spare time as I can with my young family. I am a passionate Hawthorn supporter and try to see as many matches as I can.
