6 Things Building & Civil Recruiters Want To See On Your SEEK Profile

Do you have a SEEK Profile? If you are open to moving jobs and you don’t, you should! SEEK Profile is a great way to get noticed by Recruiters and Hiring Managers without

having to apply for a million jobs. Recruiters and Hiring Managers can log in and view your profile and determine if you are suitable for roles they are working.

Sounds great and easy for Recruiters to find you right? The answer is yes and no. Many job seekers are missing out on being noticed on SEEK Profile for a number of reasons. If you want to be found and have an easier job search make sure your profile on SEEK has these six things:

A great resume with the correct keywords

Your resume should be well written with the right Keywords. Without these keywords, you will not come up on searches. If you are struggling to find the right keywords, or do not know how to formulate a resume which will get you noticed, contact us and we can recommend an industry based resume writer to assist.

Correct Dates

Make sure that you have documented correct dates including Month & Year. This will allow the Recruiter to make a more informed decision about your length of experience (Keep in mind do not lie about your dates, as you will be found out down the track if you do).

Projects and their dollar values

Not every person has experience with every type of project. Make sure you document a variety of projects and their dollar values on your profile or resume so you can be found easily. Recruiters who are looking for someone with Bridges or Datacentre experience within a certain dollar range will do a strategic search to see what comes up, and if you have not documented your experience correctly, you will miss out on being noticed.

Allow Recruiters access to your resume

Do not forget you will not be the only person with the same experience that a Recruiter will be looking at. If you do not allow easy access to your resume, they may glance over you not go any further. Recruiters only get a certain number of credits each month on their SEEK plan to request resumes and message candidates who have higher security settings. If you are in a list of 20 other candidates whom all have given access for their resume to be viewed, there is a big chance the Recruiter will not waste a credit requesting access to your resume as they have plenty of others to choose from.

Salary expectation

There is no use wasting your time (or a Recruiter’s) if you are wanting more money than what their clients can offer on a role they are working. By adding your salary expectation, everyone is on the same level, and you do not have your hopes shot when you hear of an amazing opportunity that is paying well below what you think you are worth.

Unique exposure

Have you worked on a Greenstar project or a Live Site? Make sure you document on your resume or profile what experience you have that others may not. You never know if a Recruiter is looking for someone with a certain background such as experience with Asbestos removal during a refurbishment.

If you are uncomfortable with having your personal information so easily accessible and you are keen to look for other roles quietly, you can always team up with one recruiter exclusively and still get noticed.
